ABOUT

Carat de Terre was born from the meeting of two materials: porcelain and gold. And, in a way, from the meeting of two family legacies.

As the daughter of a ceramicist and the granddaughter of jewellers, I grew up surrounded by clay, craftsmanship and jewellery. Yet it wasn't until 2019 that these two worlds truly came together, when I created my very first porcelain ring.

I was immediately fascinated by this material, full of contradictions. In its raw state, porcelain is soft, delicate and sometimes unpredictable. It can be shaped, sanded and transformed. Then it passes through fire and emerges strong and enduring. I love this tension between fragility and strength, between imperfection and precision.

Over the years, my work has evolved alongside me. The shapes have become simpler, colour has found a greater place in my creations, and gold has become that touch of light that seems to accompany porcelain so naturally.

And then came Mallorca.

An island where I found something very simple, yet essential: a sense of balance. A place where I feel at home, where my way of experiencing the world has become lighter, brighter and more joyful. Little by little, the island's light, its colours and its way of life naturally found their way into my creations.

In 2023, while wandering down a street, I came across a small empty space entirely by chance. I remember immediately imagining my shop there. I met the owner shortly afterwards, and everything fell into place with surprising ease. Almost as though the space had been waiting for me. Nothing had really been planned, and yet everything felt completely natural.

And so Carat de Terre found its home in Mallorca.

Today, this is where I dream up and handcraft my collections in small batches. Every piece of jewellery carries the subtle traces of being made by hand: slight variations, a line of gold that is never quite the same, a colour that sometimes responds differently to the fire. These are the little imperfections and unique details that I love and consciously choose to preserve.

Today, Carat de Terre is where my roots meet the place I have chosen to call home. Where porcelain meets gold, fragility meets strength, inherited craftsmanship meets the freedom to create.
